Natalie Paley (1905-1981) was a Russian-born American socialite, actress, and fashion model. She was born into the Russian imperial family as the grandniece of Tsar Nicholas II. In 1917, her family fled Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution and settled in France.
In the 1920s, Paley became a prominent figure in the Parisian social scene and was known for her beauty and fashion sense. She also pursued a career in acting and appeared in several films, including "The Night of Love" (1927) and "We're Not Dressing" (1934).
In 1927, Paley married French banker Lucien Lelong and became a muse for his fashion house, influencing the designs of haute couture collections. She later divorced Lelong and married American jazz musician and composer Johnny Green in 1944.
Paley struggled with alcoholism for much of her life and became estranged from her family. She died in Switzerland in 1981.
